Biography:
Dr. Ashwini is currently a research faculty at PSG College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore, India. She earned her Bachelors and master’s in biotechnology from Osmania University, Hyderabad and PhD in Biotechnology from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. In her thesis work, she pioneered metabolic engineering in onion for synthesis of isoflavonids. After completing her PHD, Ashwini accepted a position as teaching faculty for UG and PG students for a short time and later moved to Bharat Biotech International Limited, where she worked for 3 years. During that time, she developed and got acquainted with the manufacturing of vaccines under GMP in the laboratory with reskilling herself on QA, QC, and regulatory procedures. Later she got the opportunity to move to Chulalongkorn University as a postdoctoral fellow and made her way to plant molecular pharming to express various biological proteins. She was indeed also a Project manager in R&D for Baiya Phytopharm, Bangkok, Thailand. She has authored many refereed publications in reputed journals
