Biography:
Ana Paula Vargas Garcia, Ph.D., is a biomedical scientist and postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil. She investigates the tumor microenvironment in breast cancer using comparative models in dogs and humans, with emphasis on collagen remodeling, macrophage infiltration, and ECM-driven invasion. She has published in leading journals such as Cancer Letters and Scientific Reports, and teaches pathology, histology, and cytology at PUC-Minas. Dr. Garcia has received national fellowships and awards, and her work bridges experimental oncology and translational relevance through multiphoton microscopy and immunohistochemical techniques.
