Biography:
Dr Isabelle Mus-Veteau is a research director from CNRS. She has a strong expertise in cell biology,
pharmacology, membrane protein biochemistry and biophysics, and recombinant membrane protein
expression and purification. Supported by European and regional funding, she has made key contributions to
understanding the human Hedgehog receptor Ptch1, demonstrating first its roles in cholesterol (Bidet et al.
2011). She then discovered its as efflux pump of chemotherapeutic agents and its role in chemotherapy
resistance of several types of cancer cells such as adrenocortical carcinoma, melanoma and breast cancer (Bidet
et al. 2012, Hasanovic et al 2018, Signetti et al 2020, Feliz Morel et al 2022, Cogoluegnes et al 2025) and
identifying the first Ptch1 drug efflux inhibitors (patent PCT/EP2015/074771, Fiorini et al 2015, Hasanovic et
al 2018, Signetti et al 2020, Kovachka et al 2021, Kovachka et al 2022, Cogoluegnes et al 2025)
